"Raised in the desert of Arizona, I have always been drawn to nature," said David Brand.  "My mother, Margaret Harris Brand, was an Arizona oil painter and teacher who inspired me to follow my passion of art. 

"My inspiration for my paintings comes from the desert, mountains, seashore, islands of the Paciic, farms and the people who live in these places.  Cloud formations and the atmosphere give me the soft beauty I search for daily.

"My training in art has been a lifelong journey.  I studied at Arizona State University, Mesa Community College, Brigham Young University.  I have attended many outdoor plein aire workshops throughout the West. 

"I attribute what success I have had to the special attention I have received from Norma Forsberg, Don Shaumburg, Ben Goo, Bill Voss, Robert Lemler and countless hours of study and practice.

"I love to paint, draw, sketch and observe life.
