Colleen Parker

As a gallery, we mourn the passing of our dear friend and mentor, Colleen Parker. Colleen passed away on July 6, after living every minute of every day to the fullest. She made the world a more beautiful place not only as an artist, but as a person.

As an artist, Colleen Parker described herself as a "perpetual explorer."  She worked in a variety of art media in both miniature and large formats, incorporating drawing, printmaking, collage and painting either singly or in various combinations.  Her work has been widely exhibited locally and across the country, garnering many awards in major juried regional, national and international exhibits.  She is represented in the permanent collections of Brigham Young University and the Springville Museum of Art.  Perhaps her most well known work is pastel over monotype, a unique approach combining abstract and representational art, which was featured in the July, 1988 issue of THE ARTIST'S MAGAZINE.
